Lucas is a student at the University of Manchester studying Physics with Theoretical Physics.  

What draws him to the subject are the endless opportunities to use even the most exotic maths to explain the physical world. He has always had a passion for learning which he tries to instil in his students during lessons; always ensuring that the focus of the lesson is how we know and why we care. 

This attitude is reflected by his strong academic record:

• 4 A* at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
• 12 Grade 9s at GCSE in a wide range of subjects.
• Gold awards in both the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge and the British Physics Olympiad 1.

Lucas believes that everyone’s lives would be richer if they had a deeper understanding of maths and the sciences. As a tutor he enjoys seeing his students become more confident in their subject over time and as Recruitment Manager at the University of Manchester Physics Outreach society he hopes he can do his part in growing the audience that actively engages with these subjects.  

He tutors the following subjects:

• Mathematics up to and including A-Level (Including Further Mathematics).
• Physics up to and including A-Level.
• Chemistry and Biology up to and including GCSE.
