Samuel B

Samuel is a 2nd-year Sociology student at the University of Leeds. He received A*s in A-Level Psychology and English Literature, A in A-Level Sociology, and A in AQA Level 3 Core Maths Certificate, as well as Grade 9 English Literature and Grade 8 English Language at GCSE. He tutors English Literature, English Language, Psychology, and Sociology up to GCSE level.

Samuel has twice been published through the Young Writers’ ‘Through Their Eyes’ 11-18 poetry competitions, having placed among the 5 winners in one competition and continues to take a keen interest in writing and reading poetry. He has particular interest and knowledge in dystopic fiction and classic literature, especially Victorian authors, and enjoys discussing political, social, and economic topics and how they relate to literature and the choices authors make in their work, utilising his background in Sociology and continued interest in historical and contemporary politics to inform this.

Samuel is looking forward to working with students aged 11-16 and using his recent experience of GCSEs to provide a student-centred experience of tutoring, where students’ experiences and learning preferences are the first concern. He aims to help students develop a more sophisticated, nuanced level of understanding of their subjects, as well as practical, grounded advice on how to achieve their highest academic potential.

Samuel can teach GCSE subjects such as English Literature, English Language, and Sociology; and A-Level Psychology.
