Alex K
From his early secondary school years, Alex demonstrated a natural talent for both Mathematics and Physics. After earning numerous awards and medals at local and national Olympiad competitions in these subjects, he was selected to join the Bulgarian National Physics Team. Representing Bulgaria on two occasions, Alex achieved notable international success:
Bronze Medal at the Romanian Masters of Science 2016
Bronze Medal at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 2016
Alex completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Physics, followed by the prestigious Maths Tripos Part III – Master of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. This program is widely regarded as one of the most rigorous and advanced mathematics courses in the world.
Since 2020, Alex has been working at the School of Maths and Science Olympiads (SMSO Education), where he specializes in tutoring Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics, and Olympiad-level Physics. He also mentors students preparing for university entrance exams in Mathematics and Physics, with a focus on applications to top UK institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, and other leading universities.
Many of Alex’s students have achieved outstanding results, including ranking first in the UK’s national Olympiad for students under Year 9 (Cayley Olympiad) and gaining admission to elite mathematics-focused schools such as King’s College London Mathematics School, Cambridge Maths School, and Imperial College London Mathematics School.
Since 2019, Alex has been part of the coaching team for the Bulgarian National Physics Team. He continues to return to Bulgaria annually to contribute to the training and selection process of the national team.
